One year Back- China Food

Salam and have great days to all of you.The 2nd part of my experience in China will be talking about Food and where I ate when I were in China. At the first place everybody will thinking about how hard for us as a muslim to find HALAL food to eat. For those who are not familiar or never been there, it is normal if you guys think like that. Actually, China is better a lot than some other place beside our country (off course) to find HALAL food. The fact is there are at least 150 million muslim in China (source from islamicpopulation.com), the largest community of muslim in one country. But off course it just about 1-2 % from the total person live in China. But still it can prove to you that is not really hard for us to find HALAL food.

Start from the first day i step my feet in Shenzhen, i already discover few restaurants that selling HALAL food (is not hard to find Halal food in Beijing too). The better news is, it just about 50 m from my hotel.  So I and Nugroho, my colleague from Indonesia (Processor, Surveyor) cant wait to try at one of the restaurant to eat (actually we were really hungry). Surprisingly, this restaurant is a 24 hours open, make me remember kedai mamak in malaysia where we always lepak there midnight especially saturday/sunday to watch football.

You can try to call the phone number for delivery service =)

This restaurant also has lot of choices and menu for you to try. You can watch how they make their own noodles (ramen) in front of you where here in malaysia you guys need to go to exclusive restaurant/hotel to watch they make ramen mee. At first i triend beef noodles and it is really delicious. But both of us (me and nugroho) can not finish it coz the noodles is very much with really nice soup inside a big bowl. But they just sell this one for RMB 5, about RM 2.50 in Malaysia..so cheap but great taste. Next day i tried their original Nasi Goreng (kat sini panggil nasi goreng cina lorr)...the results..huh..really great taste but still failed to finish it..(pinggan mcm 4 org makan)..

I also had tried their fried ketchup mutton (kambing gurun) together with fried vege, fried eggs and chilies and it really make me forget about home food (just for a while)..and all this menu is really cheap, where RMB 40 can cover of 4 person. So I can be clarify as a regular customer there and they already know me and we are like brothers..I, my senior Ang (Geo),Nugroho,Khairul Faizi ( Processor/Surveyor) and Tan (Geo) are the brotherhood of this restaurant..huhu..

Making noodles can trim your biceps and triceps..huhu

See how big is the bowl..

But i do try another place too coz i'm working with various personnel background. But, I only try seafood base la. It quite nice and good taste. They really know how to mix up things and present a marvelous foods..

There was a time when I and Kharul Faizi miss so much foods in malaysia and we found out one restaurant (Bombay Cuisine) where we can find all mamak food what we called here. Nasi briyani mutton and chicken, roti canai, roti pisang, roti telur, fish curry, papadom and so on..They are all so delicious (maybe starving effect play its role too) but dont mention about the price lah. nasi briyani is RMB 45 (RM 22.50), roti pisang is RMB 11 (RM 5.50) and Ice Lemon Tea is RMB 12 (RM 6.00). But still, we dont care coz we really like death-starving to eat those foods. The most important is, HALAL.

Onboard vessel, we have cook both from indonesia..The food they prepare mostly is asian food (usually spicy) so is not hard for me to eat while im working. But still after some times, you want something else and looking for a better foods.  I did learn and love to eat Kapurung, Indonesian food popular in Maluku (what marine crew from indonesia said). It is like Laksa but we eat that with sagu, together with fish, corn, kangkung or kacang panjang, chicken, meat and so on. It is nice and spicy. I'm thinking to make that one later when i got free time.....
